Beginning in September 2010, the Eastside German Language School will offer a German immersion preschool program during the week.
Classes will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Friday from 9.30 am until 1.30 pm. If there is enough interest, Wednesday classes will also be offered. Students can enroll for any combination of days. Please see our latest EGLS Preschool Calendar 2010-2011 (.pdf) for school days.
We welcome children between the ages of 30 months to 5 years old. No previous German experience is necessary.
Snacks are provided and students bring a lunch from home.
With our immersion program, students learn German naturally through play, reading, music and movement, singing, creative activities and stories. We celebrate traditional German holidays such as Martinstag, Nikolaustag, Weihnachten, Fasching and Maifest. The curriculum is theme based, following the season, cultural events, and topical events in the students' lives. Projects emphasize the process of learning and are developmentally age appropriate. Social and emotional development are encouraged through team work, games, and projects.
Our teachers are native German speakers with early childhood experience.

Enrollment is for 10 months, from September to June. Payment is required August through May. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $100.00.
The Preschool at EGLS is located at the Community Church of Issaquah, home to our Saturday school, and convenient to downtown Issaquah and I-90.

Through furnishings, decor and teaching aids, the self-contained space with private bathroom brings a bit of German culture to Issaquah.
The students have year-round access to an enclosed play space, which we share with the Issaquah Coop Preschool.
